Our Sunday School
Sunday School classes for Faith Lutheran Church are held each Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. Classes are available for preschool, kindergarten, junior, preteen, junior high and high school children. Each Sunday morning begins with an opening in the church sanctuary for grades preschool through fifth with prayer, a message from Pastor, music, and announcements. Children and teachers then progress to their classrooms to study lessons from the series Our Life In Christ from Concordia Publishing House.
Summer Sunday School meets with combined classes and uses a more informal teaching approach.
Once a month, on the third Sunday, the children sing during Divine Service. They also take part in an annual Christmas program involving the telling of the Christmas story and singing several Christmas songs.
Adult Education
As Christians, we are called to study and learn God's Word. There are a variety of educational opportunities for adults. Adult Bible Study - This class meets every Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. This class normally studies a book of the Bible verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter. Occasionally, a topical study is presented. Doctrine and Theology - This class meets every Sunday after Divine Service at 11:00 a.m. and is intended for those who desire to delve a little deeper into the Scriptures. Adult Confirmation - This class is primarily intended for those of non-Lutheran backgrounds who desire to join this congregation, although it is also for those who desire to refresh themselves. This is an "as-needed" class and will be held as a class of many students or in the home as a one-on-one class. Other classes are periodically added as needed or desired. Keep your eye on the church calendar. Junior Confirmation
Confirmation is a custom of the church and not a sacrament. It links the catechumens to their Baptism, celebrates the reception of the Lord's Word among them, and welcomes them to the Lord's Table. Luther strongly urges in both the Large and Small Catechisms that those who are unwilling to learn, at the very least, the Ten Commandments, the Creed, and the Lord's Prayer, should not be admitted to the Sacrament. Baptized Christians are admitted to the Sacrament when they have been examined and absolved by their pastor in accordance with the practice outlined in the Augsburg Confession (Article XXV.) A.R.K. Our children's midweek education program is called A.R.K. - an acronym for Almighty Redeeming King. It meets on Wednesday nights in the months of October, November, January, February, March, and sometimes part of April. A.R.K. is for children ages 3 through 4th grade. The children enjoy Bible storeis, Bible memorization, music, snacks, and crafts all centered around God's Word. In the past, we have also had fun nights such as performing skits, singing at area care centers, and "Who Am I Night" where children dress up as a person from the Bible. Vacation Bible School is held at Faith Lutheran Church the third week of every July. A special theme is followed every year. Children enjoy stories, puppet shows, plays, songs, recreation, special food treats, crafts, and fellowship each summer. It's a fun-filled week which the children always seem to enjoy. Youth Activities We welcome any child in the 6th - 12th grade. We meet after the service on the 2nd Sunday of each month. We also enjoy many fun activities for fellowship and fundraising such as bowling, roller skating, skiing, leaf raking, and car washes.
The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is an international organization organized by "societies" within local congregations. The primary purpose of the LWML is to assist in the great work of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ into the world. To this end, the LWML works to educate, strengthen, and motivate women of all ages both in Gospel outreach and faith-sharing, as well as preparing future leaders. The LWML funds its mission projects through the MiteBox and thank offerings. The Mite Box is based on the story of the widow's mite in Luke 21:1 - 4 where it is recorded that "she gave everything she had." Members often place pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and even more in their Mite Box each day. Together with the thank offerings, tens of millions of dollars have been given as mission grants since 1942.

Old Threshers
Midwest Old Threshers and Settlers Reunion is an annual five day event in Mount Pleasant, ending on Labor Day. The Faith Lutheran Food Tent is known far and wide for its homemade 'beef and noodles." Members work together to provide lunch and dinner meals, including over 2,500 servings of beef and noodles, for hundreds of visitors and exhibitors that attend Old Threshers each year. Proceeds from the food tent are used to support mission opportunities in our church, our community, and our state, plus national and international mission projects. We hope you'll join us as we work together in service to God through our Old Thresher's food tent.

Our local society meets at the church on the second Thursday of each month.
